Pros

Freedom in working style and good pay. Rewarding work if you find a team that is a good fit.

Cons

It's getting harder to take pride in the work as products decline and get shut down. Promo rewards new products and features rather than quality. It's also harder than it used to be to move teams. Popular teams get a lot of people applying, and a lot of teams interview almost as if you are changing companies. Unless you do ML, there is not much room for growth in a purely technical role. You have to shift into more of a leadership role.
