      Pros

      More often than not you get to work with smart, good people on hard, interesting problems. People are united by a purposeful and enduring mission - to make the world's information universally accessible and useful.

      Cons

      All the bureaucracy of a large company but with none of the tops down guidance. A formerly bottoms up culture of empowerment has devolved into every decision being clouded by a near paralyzing fear of failure. Internal politics are at an all time high and the culture is in rapid decline.

      Pros

      The pay is good, and the food is decent. Does not make up for the toxic environment.

      Cons

      Ever since the 2023 layoffs, moral hit a depressing low that management is oblivious to. Quiet layoffs happen every month, and people ops (HR) quickly takes action against anyone talking about it on LinkedIn. Every L7 and L8 has their own silo and teams no longer have direction nor shared goals. Security firm Mandiant was purchased in 2022. Lots of us were let go shortly afterwards, and now Mandiant are the ones getting laid off. Toxic place. Bad moral. Will be looking elsewhere for sure.

      - Flexible work location - Close location to train - Flex day for upskilling

      Cons

      - Promotion seems to be more based on personal relationship with management than recognition of ability . - A lot of internal bullying, management turns a blind eye to it. - By far the most unprofessional behaviour I have experienced in general. - Salary is not competitive - VHI health plan is mediocre when compared to other corporations - Far too much bureaucracy and is only getting worse - lazy colleagues
