Pros

Perks like all you can eat buffet at all hours of the day, shuttle transportation is free if you're FTE and $1.50 each way if you're a TVC. Some dogs around campus available for petting. That's about it, the food quality has gone down drastically since people become entitled here and take food home for their families.

Cons

Toxic work environment in some BUs. The leadership here are completely detached from their teams. I wouldn't call them leaders but bosses with superiority complexes. If you think FTEs are treated badly here, what about the TVCs? They do a lot of the heavy lifting and get zero recognition from uppers. TVCs know 98% of the processes yet are treated as disposable at the end of their term, leaving FTE managers to scramble to find replacements to overlap for information transferring. They are also required to document everything before they leave in hopes the new TVC will know how to handle processes, the leads never learn how to do things themselves. The dependency is not sustainable, especially not in operation type roles. It's a never ending cycle. I felt really bad for the TVCs on my team!

Great Opportunities; Lesser Job Satisfaction

Pros

I shall not touch on the benefits as I think these are over discussed and obvious. What I love about the company is the amalgamation of great minds, collaborative work, amazing opportunities (both work and personal), flat structure, continual education and the freedom to do your work as you seem fit without having to adhere to strict processes and protocols.

Cons

- Your core job is mundane as they tend to hire over qualified people - They tend to promote unqualified middle managers. I have had met teams where the subordinates are much more knowledgeable and capable than the managers. This, many times made them lose great people. - What you put hard work on might not materialize to fruition in the future as change is constant. Projects get scrapped all the time. In the end, you feel like you don't achieve much at all. - Feels like a cult. When you work at Google, you live and breathe Google. - Distracting work environment with so many going-ons, travels, open office, etc; hard to do work if you are not focused. - While they promote work life balance, the truth is, this is hard to have since there are so many projects, changes, travels and filtering of information to have a decent work life balance - Ridiculous amounts of unnecessary meetings

Pros

Excellent stock & bonus, if you live on your salary you'll be making some serious bank towards retirement.

Cons

Competition both to get in and to get promoted is severe and steep. You'll be making slow progress, if any, towards goals of advancement in title and responsibilities.
