Pros

You can work a good chunk of your time and most teams on something that you are interested in. They officially got rid of the 20% project but you can get unofficial approval to do it from your manager for getting your work done. Most people are able to do this. The sushi at the Sunnyvale TC one office is dank.

Cons

If you move further up the engineering ladder, they start to want you to mentor people and stuff scheduling and context switching between talking to people and doing actual engineering work can be challenging for some people, including myself. I wouldn’t call this a dealbreaker. I would just say that you need to schedule “do not schedule” sections in your calendar if you plan to do technical work.
