Cons

Values, decent culture and googliness is a myth from pre-2023 layoffs. Sociopaths/psychopaths in management, power abuse, red hierarchic organization with zero agency remaining in Warsaw, Poland. Bad location for international mobility. Enter political games, policy abuse, hoarding.

Increasing level of Top-Down leadership, old Google was very bottom up. Promotions and recognition are increasingly going to those who can sell their work, instead of those who do the work. Despite having a largely distributed workforce, travel budgets are terrible and getting permission to travel is difficult unless you are L6+.
