Cons

A lot of what you learn at Google is only going to be useful at Google. I've spent 3 years at Google and spent a lot of time learning about internal tools and processes that won't be useful in a job anywhere else.

* Upper level management largely tries to do right * Pay is pretty good * Lots of opportunity for learning and growth

Cons

* Middle management and certain orgs (GCP especially) can be pretty awful * Pay can be hugely variable * Tech stack is Google specific, easy to get silo'd and get pretty out of date on tech

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Google. Compensation is unquestionably good, work is challenging and rewarding, and the products one works on will be used by millions of people.

Cons

I didn't feel my career was growing at the rate I wanted it to (it's hard to make waves in a 100,000-person company), but the environment was excellent.
