Pros

Good work environment. Free time mostly Good for those who want to pass their time.

Cons

No learning Damn Politics No Growth Saturated completely. higher mgmt says, we are not Service Oriented company so have limited (almost nill) opportunities to grow. Once in and spent some time then cannot go out and look for another opportunity because one forgets everything (skills).

Pros

HSBC is a great company with a massive focus on community and wellness. Even in this economy, the bank is in a decent financial status and still manages to offer positive experiences for their employees. While very corporate, there is usually a small group of employees under one specific manager which helps in the individual focus of employees rather than a huge group.

Cons

HSBC is a bank that counts where each penny is placed. Granted that the current economic status has pushed these practices farther than ever before, the bank has put a great amount of concentration on each position, each employee and just how they can make tweak them to save money. Slowly, cuts are being made in a very quiet fashion to keep the alarms off. It's a little too sneaky for my liking, especially that in the end, it's not about the employee, it's about their salary. Very "corporate" outlook on the HR end which makes you feel like more of a number rather than the person who puts in those hard hours.
