Pros

Exposure to lots of types of FS offerings, chance to build a large network, lots of sophisticated processes and frameworks to examine and apply elsewhere.

Cons

Terrible development for promotion/growth, mostly down to poor - on average - team leadership/management. There were exceptions, but people would mostly expect to move externally to grow in their career. For a huge organisation with such high turnover rates, there was little internal promotion. This got very depressing very quickly, especially when coupled with stagnant base pay (whilst reporting huge profits and dividends and cutting employee numbers).
