Pros

It does offer a good benefits package with bupa and pension contributions

Cons

Salary is a still low considering a Universal Banker deals with peoples money You work half day Saturdays but expected to give hours back by taking 30 minutes lunch break because you get a full day in lieu. However you expected to arrive for work early and constantly leave late so land up working for free Bonuses decrease yearly instead of increasing considering profits made Always understaffed, branches closing putting pressure on remaining branches which has lowest number of staff than ever before No progression for branch staff Branch staff really treated as "bottom" of food chain Branch staff not respected by senior management No real work life balance working in branch and no flexibilit.

REVIEW YOUR FAULTS AS THE MANAGEMENT

Pros

Nothing. There is nothing good to say

Cons

Everything. From the management team, to the team managers. Team managers only seem friendly on the surface. One minor mistake and they come down hard on you. You can do everything right but it will never be enough. Customer centric and doesn't care about the well being of staff. Only lip service for showing concern. Super fake and basically just run. Don't work here. EVER.

A victim of its size

Pros

- lots of genuinely lovely, kind and helpful people - amazing offices - the opportunity to work with people from so many different cultures

Cons

- it seems like the same cycle on repeat, bloated company and structure make it difficult to be efficient, restructure, company becomes bloated and inefficient, restructure and repeat - global standardisation makes it harder to deliver results. It's a necessary evil (you don't want different everything for HSBC across different countries), but it makes it really hard to get things done - incessant meeting culture - it's not innovative at all, and barely open to innovation. The people who succeed are the ones who have learned how things work (or don't work)
