Pros
Great employee benefits and a reasonably competitive compensation package in the Philippines. The company actively promotes work-life balance and values diversity among its employees. Overall, it’s a great place to work, although this can depend on the team you become part of.
Cons
Tax Team is affected by office drama and politics, where some members of management make personal attacks toward employees and promote only those they feel they can influence. If they don’t favor you, your performance or tenure may be dismissed with vague comments like “it’s not yet your time” or “you still have areas for improvement,” even when less effective team leads are promoted to team managers and later take credit for their team’s work because they dont really have the touch base for the process of the team they manage. The management also try to befriend employees to learn personal information that could later be used against them. Management often says they are open to feedback and even call it a gift, but when you share feedback about their leadership, they typically don’t act on it. At times, they even take it as a personal attack rather than genuine, constructive input. These issues have persisted for years, and many employees feel unable to speak up, leading to wasted talent and resignations. For some, the situation worsens after filing a resignation, as managers/ TLs may “hold things over your head,” guilt-trip you about what they claim to have done for you, assign unrealistic tasks before your last day, or threaten delays in final pay. Process heads appears to play a role in enabling this leadership style.
