      Good starting point for SW development career

      Pros

      Good job security, regular raises, reasonably good corporate family environment, especially for a company this large.

      Cons

      Very difficult to advance, lots of red tape. Any and all promotions/etc seem to have to sit on someones desk in New york for at least a month before anything is done. Very low pay for SW Engineers.

      Pros

      Medical software is fun and exciting. Due to government requirements and certifications there are a lot of fun and exciting changes floating in. Fast pace.

      Cons

      Low pay, low moral, everyone always seems unhappy, people don't work together or share knowledge. Some have been with the company for years, it's stable and its great for collecting a paycheck however it is not a great place to grow in your role. People take job security very seriously. I still run into people out and about that work there and the response is always negative as to how things are doing. No one ever seems happy.
