Focus of the company seems to be extracting value/knowledge from US to use in China and other markets
Pros
The team I was on was open to learning new things. It was a decent place to work - though with caveats described below. Another item: in my experience the work/life balance was good. That may be dependent on particular department/manager.
Cons
The team lead and management were concerned about work and ideas being "borrowed" by China headquarters staff. The ideas developed here would end up in central HQ slides without attribution. Over the entire period we did not receive any use-case data or algorithms from Business Units in China for whom we supposedly are partners. They keep it to themselves - even when senior management directs them to do otherwise. We also did not have proper computer equipment to do our jobs. This led to poor results and (justifiable) lower acceptance of our work by the industry.
