      Avoid for foreigners!

      Pros

      Good food in science park. Office is clean. Nice to stay in HK. Some people are very kind

      Cons

      Many problems exist: Very very bad environment for foreigners even in research scientist role. Typical Chinese-style company and Chinese research culture, No original research, only engineering. Too much internal infighting/competition waste 90% time. Pay cannot attract top talent. People embellish their achievement to get praise from management. No diversity (95% chinese) but claim to be diverse??? Coworkers/leadership careless about foreigners, not taken seriously, second class citizen. All documentation and internal chats, meetings in Chinese. Even no HKers, only mainland chinese. Overall it is OK to stay 1 year, good place to explore HK

      The location of the company is convenient.

      Cons

      Growth opportunities are extremely limited. The organization’s deeply nationalistic stance was surprising, and the Munich Research Center (MRC) staff have virtually no influence over research direction, which is entirely dictated by the Chinese headquarters. Non-Chinese employees are unlikely to feel genuinely welcomed. Morale appears low; most people seem disengaged and resigned to the status quo. If you have no long-term career ambitions, it may be tolerable to stay simply for the paycheck. In practice, Huawei seems to use the Munich Center more as a symbolic presence in Europe than as a meaningful driver of innovation.

      Good pay, good opportunity for international exposure

      Cons

      No work life balance, sometimes have to work till midnight during tender. Sometimes too much focus on internal reporting to different leaders of different department.
