Pros

IBM knows that you grow in your life as you grow in your career and makes space for that. If you can do the bare minimum at a certain time it’s not the end of the world, if you can go over the top your work will be appreciated with bonuses, raises, and opportunities in my experience. It’s a good place to grow.

Cons

They enterprise for other enterprises. So things move slowly compared to other tech companies. And they are slower to adopt new concepts and methodologies than other tech companies. In my experience everywhere they say they do agile development is truly waterfall masked as agile. But I don’t have much to compare to so maybe that’s normal.

Pros

diversity, work-life balance, decent compensation

Cons

overall mess, no strong hands on leader on the project to organize teams and processes, multilayer management, where upper level is too detached from people
