Pros

Good work-life balance (I was never denied leave in 12-13 years whenever it was urgent). Enough time to master your domain. Better than high-paying companies that make you work 10 hours a day and then do lay-offs as soon as projects are dumped by management.

Cons

Team synergy matters a lot. Try to get into a team of helpful team-mates. You have to find your own way otherwise you'll be stuck in some old tech ruining your future chances in other companies. Very niche skills are used, not suitable for most of other companies.
