Pros

IBM encourages self-learning and growth and offers a plethora of opportunities for employees like Udemy, O Reilly and many others. The IBMer network is amazing and you get to meet amazing people by collaborating with them on inventing, hackathons and organizing events and in conferences. There are several business resource groups for sub communities like LGBTQIA+, Asian, Black and also for different regions like NYC etc, which is a great way to meet like-minded IBMers. The work itself is great - of course this sometimes depends on the team / code base - but mostly I've worked with people who strive to adopt the latest and greatest tech and want to write good code.

Cons

Promotion cycles can be long There's no bonus for individual contributors Reorgs are frequent and disruptive
