Pros

Before starting here, I thought that IBM was an older company on the way out. However, this is not true at all. IBM is not the huge company that it used to be, but it is far from dying. It is slimmed down and focused on what it is good at. They are creating industry leading hardware that clients love. If you want to work on cutting edge computers, IBM is a solid option. As far as the culture, I think it's great. Managers are given freedom to run their teams how they want. In many cases, you can work from home on random days of the week or not come in at all. However, they have created incentives to help people decide on their own to come back to the office. Many locations have free snacks and various beverages to lure people in. There is also free lunches at some locations for certain days of the week.

Cons

IBM has transformed its culture to be extremely modern and welcoming. However, the office facilities in Poughkeepsie are a little dated. They are clean and functional but I do not get very excited to sit in my office every day. I wish there were more open and collaborative spaces.
