Pros

Most of the engineers you work worth are over-qualified for the work asked of them. Everyone is polite and professional. Junior software developers will be technically challenged. It looks good on your resume. Great career track for a FEW management-bound people.

Cons

Salaries are being reduced thru raises which don't keep up with inflation. Everyone worries about being fired -- everyone is ranked, and bottom 2.5% are whacked every 6 months. Medical and dental benefits are expensive for families. IBM's interpretation of Agile software development methology has turned the place into a sweatshop. Every Band 9 ($120K+) faces a "move up or move out" dilemma.
