Pros

Flexibility and independence with easy job progression internally. Great work environment in terms of colleagues and responsibilities.

Cons

Office locations could use some more attention. Salaries overall aren't the greatest and at times it feels like there is too much bureaucracy to get anything done.

Pros

Everyone knows that IBM is one of the best companies to work for, however there is something more to it apart from one of the great IT companies. I am a Corporate Service Alumni. Apart from regular assignments, IBM provides opportunity to work in CSC Projects. I was lucky to be one of the employees to work in one of the African countries as a project consultant. That was the best one month of my entire 25 years of IT career which gave me overall exposure professionally and personally. No amount of classroom training would have provided me the exposure I got in these 4 weeks of CSC assignment.

Cons

Nothing specific to share as such

Pros

As a veteran of the US military, I've always appreciated that IBM recognizes the unique value, skills, and experience each individual brings to the company. Our leadership supports hiring veterans and encourages veterans working for the company to share their thoughts and help others with military career transitions. Additionally, I appreciate the company focus on corporate citizenship. As an individual IBM, I've found volunteer opportunities in my community and logged time I committed to nonprofit organizations I've served. I received an IBM community grant for one organization for the time I volunteered. Also, I was accepted into the Corporate Service Corps and spent a month as a corporate volunteer, consulting with an organization in Vietnam.

Cons

IBM is a large, global company. If you're considering employment and have worked for a small company or organization, it may take time to understand the many divisions and organizations within IBM.
