Pros

Not many. As a former IBMer I thought coming back to IBM would be much like my previous experience working for IBM 10 years ago. It was much, much worse.

Cons

Poor direction, poor poor management, lack of vision, lack of communication, lack of defined job role & lack of job description, IBM over hired & had to conduct massive layoffs less than 1 year after hiring the Cloud staff.

Pros

Flexibility. This is probably the only reason why a lot of people choose to stay in IBM. There is nothing else that would be considered as a "pro".

Cons

Promotions are not based on performance, instead it is based on how well you can brown nose your superior. Most things that you learn in the "accounting" unit of IBM has nothing to do with basic accounting. If you are looking to learn accounting, please think twice about coming here. All you do is repetitive data-entry work here. Something even a Secondary 5 graduate with no accounting skill would be able to do. Also, for medical you would still have to pay RM5 for every visit to the doctor.

Pros

Ability to telecommute. Connecting with people locally, nationally & globally.

Cons

Employee pay was cut by 10% more than once. In office workers were denied office supplies. Quarterly layoffs due to replacing experienced stateside employees with offshore, inexperienced, undependable, straight-out-of-high-school kids. Ten layers of overpaid management, whose jobs are never in jeopardy, consistently get bonuses because they "make their numbers" by firing people instead of being innovative with cost saving products or processes. CEO and completely unnecessary upper management are totally out of touch - they view employees, who actually contribute by doing the work, as expenses instead of the valuable assets they are.
