Pros

Big company allowing you to move around to do different things within the same company.

Cons

Everything is driven towards cutting expenses and cost at the expense of the employees. Employee morale is visibly as low as can be, but upper executives and management do not care, and with reason: they are making a killing buying shares back. Revenue is mostly flat, you would think investors will catch up at some point, but somehow it never happens.

Pros

Nice people Good team atmosphere Good place to start straight out of school International organization.Literally in every country there's a IBM: strong brand image.

Cons

Lousy pay with almost no or only symbolic raises. If you fail to negotiate a good starting pay then don't expect to make it up with raises. Great at lateral promotions but the promotion just leads to more work & responsibility, not higher pay. Clueless management. Byzantine office politics fostered by incompetent managers. Cheapest company I ever worked for. Great company for stockholders but really bad for longer term employees.
