Pros

Lots of challenging opportunities available, and being a large company, IBM offers a large variety of projects for you to work on. The people are nice and generally hard working. If you want to find another project to work on, your manager will work with you and not stand in your way.

Cons

The only time I heard anything about work-life balance was at New Hire Orientation. After that, hours could sometimes be 70 hours a week, and almost every weekend required working, with no recognition from management. If you do something you think you deserve credit for, it's up to you to speak up -- no place for a shrinking violet who waits for good things to come. This isn't just because it's a large company, it also happens on smaller projects and teams.
