      Pros

      Great benefits package and comparable salaries Ability to work from home is widely accepted Can really grow your career and expertise if you so desire Most colleagues are nice, professional and in the same boat as you.

      Cons

      Yearly layoffs drastically impact moral and ability to get work accomplished. Internally-facing organizations move very slowly and it's frustrating. Externally-facing organizations often move too quickly and rush to failure. As much as they cut the dead weight, there are still middle-managers who are apathetic and just filling a seat.

      For me, IBM is the perfect example of an unprofessional, unambitious, arrogant and slow company. Processes kills everyone The place is filled up with people who have waited for their manager position for years. There are NO managers, only administrators Absolutely lack of organization and management Terrible, horrible and disgusting physical working environment. The place is dirty and old! My impression was a lot of cheat from sales reps EXPENSIVE CANTEEN! Sad culture - no one smiles! Do not believe one word from recruiters or managers during your interview process. There is a reason that ambitious, eager and passionate people are leaving!

      Pros

      Complete autonomy, if you have the right manager your job is your own and they are there to help and facilitate your career. Excellent work life balance. You also have the opportunity to work with a lot of different teams and projects. New focus on design at a corporate level.

      Cons

      The global workforce makes finding workable meeting times. Not as many small benefits as other companies, especially in the SF Bay Area. The wrong manager can derail your career. A lot of tenured colleagues can hinder progress to modern updates.
