Flexible. No accountability. Management don't know what you're doing.

Cons

Don't rate staff and you leave when your job is offshored, no matter how long or how hard you've worked for the company, or what sort of job you've done.

Pros

For a megacorporation, IBM is rather humane. There's a strong sense of tradition here and respect for people who have grown up in this company. That said, it's also a place that embraces change and behaves less paternally than it used to. The best reason to work here: fairness. Do your job, do it well, you will be rewarded.

Cons

Due to its enormous size, changes and decisions take an enormously long time. Internal politics are also deeply entrenched here.

IBM has a reasonable wage. And it still has a family like culture. IBM values Diversity so thoes who are diverse will be more Secure.

Cons

IBM is a good place to work as long as your manager believes you are in the in-crowd. Once Management changes and you are no longer in the in-crowd and things get bad in the economy then they will get rid of you. I was just laid off after many years of great performace. I was left scratching my head as to why they chose me. There were plenty of others that did not have the skill or pashion for the job as I did.
