Pros

The ability to work from home, although I understand that might change as they introduce the global delivery centers in the US.

Cons

There is very little training available, very little time for training, unless you use your own time. No pay raises in many, many years. The constant penny pinching, and the very frequent resource actions.

Pros

Strength of service capabilities, reputation, brand. If its being done in the world of IT, IBM is doing it and most likely on the leading edge. The strength of IBM's offerings, the depth of expertise, and the true global reach in total are beyond those of any competitors.

Cons

Respect for the individual is gone. Senior management has developed a style based on an intense focus on numbers without regard to anything else. People are secondary. Personal lives are for those in the unemployment line. A reporting, micro-management culture has developed where executives with little knowledge of services and clients real issues make decisions based on numbers in a spreadsheets. There is no loyalty towards employees - if numbers are missed it must be due to lack of effort or incompetence...employees are quickly and routinely cut as "new resources are easy to find".
