Pros

Excellent work-life balance, flexibility, and feedback on job performance.

Cons

IBM heavily leverages "supplemental" employees, meaning if you are new in the field or have little experience, you may be hired as a "supplemental" employee. This just means that you are paid well below industry average and receive no benefits for doing the same work as regular employees, on the pretense that you are there to fill a "work shortage" for a short period of time.

Pros

IBM is great name, with a great reputation. It has a lot of upside, in that they are able to give new college hires an opportunity to be on a client site and learn real world skills without having to be at the bottom of the barrel first.

Cons

It is very hard to get fair market value for your salary. Once you are in the system at IBM, you are constantly fighting a losing battle against compensation problems. It helps to ensure a good starting salary. Also, your success sometimes depends on your internal management team (SAM, SAL, etc) rather than your ability.
