      Pros

      IBM allows for flexible hours as long as you put in your 40+ hours a week. They have many different career paths (over 60) to choose from if you feel like staying with the company for a while. They have a large pool of knowledgeable employees which allows you to learn many different technology fairly quickly and gain the experience you need in the IT industry.

      Cons

      Although IBM is proud to say that they support a Work-Life balance environment for their employees, it is far from the truth! By simply taking your entitled vacation, education and "documenting" why you deserve to be recognized as a top performer, you will be required to work a large number of overtime hours to meet your utilization target. I'd probably say that I've been one of the few that have been able to grow my career during my tenure at IBM and had decent recognition for it however, it cost me my family!

      Pros

      A lot of different opportunities with one employeer. In many instances, given the ability to work from home or a remote location. IBM tries to give a good work-life balance which often works in some peoples favor but can also hurt others.

      Cons

      Easy to get "lost" in such a large corporation. Something always seems to be changing which requires learning a new system or process that is not always an improvement. The ability to work from anywhere is also one of the downfalls. I have found that employees (regardless of their position or standing) are expected to be available at all times regardless of what is going on in their life.
