      IBM not bad but could be better

      Pros

      There are lots of opportunities for advacement and to do different and challenging things. The benefits package is pretty good. The vacation package is reasonable and IBM is very good about extra time off for getting married and having children. There is also a lot of opportunity to work from home.

      Cons

      IBM is very beauruacratic,, and it is getting worse. It becomes more difficult every day to get things done. The education opportunities used to be much better. They are very restrictive now about the cost of attending classes. When I began 8 years ago there was much focus on promoting educaction and having people develop new skills.

      Pros

      A great place to develop as a professional. Career opportunities in many different fields! The matrix organization forces people to work together and not against each other. If you have the ambition to drive your career, IBM is a perfect place to do it!

      Cons

      Compensation wise it could be better. Not competitive salaries. Make sure you don´t drown in the information flow and administrative processes.
