Pros

Excellent learning opportunities and very supportive culture. This company does a very good job of capturing knowledge and promoting continuous education. Time and learning materials are provided to employees and you are given the freedom to direct your learning activities as you desire to reach your personal career goals. If you like travel, learning and people then you will like this job

Cons

bureaucratic advancement scheme and occasionally a lack of challenging work. It can be difficult when you come off of a high paced project and don't immediately have a new project to begin. This, however provides a good opportunity to support knowledge sharing and take some courses.

Pros

IBM is a large company with vast amounts of talent. You can learn a lot and have lots of room to grow.

Cons

The company is so large that there can be huge differences in employee satisfaction based largely on the first line managers. I have seen comparable employees with large differences in perceived value and salaries.

Pros

Great company to start out fresh out of college. I started out already being experience and settled down but I wish I would have started at IBM right out of college just for the fact that traveling consultants are very well taken care of. IBM allows you to travel home or else where every weekend which is great if you do not have to travel home every weekend, giving you the option to travel somewhere different every weekend.

Cons

Big company easy to get lost. If you are not a self promoter you can easily get past over for promotions or great projects to work on. Some people don’t like the large company which some times weeds out the good employees that are working and don’t have the time to self promote. I have seen a lot of great workers lost because they are not pushing them selves to be promoted.
