Pros

(1) Focus on grooming the software developer to next levels makes people stay with the company for long. Writing quality code is important for ongoing projects, also learning new technologies by participating in internal technical events keeps the developers current to the market requirements. Moving along with the transforming industry by suggesting enhancements to the current projects with new technologies is the key to groom a software developer's technical eminence. (2) Opportunity to be part of something big and larger than life i.e IBM makes employees feel contended and have our presence felt in every breakthrough technologies evolving in the market like Blockchain, ML etc., The opportunity to learn these new technologies through internal learning resources are good.

Cons

(1) There isn't a strong governing body that controls/promotes transforming legacy software development projects to an Agile methodology. The progress for transforming teams to Agile Squads is very slow, especially for incumbent teams. (2) Lack of focus on backfills for resources leaving the team puts more pressure on existing developers.
