Pros

Good people, respective of home v. work balance

Cons

Very control oriented and lacking the trust of managers to do what is right for the business. Lots of talk of flexibility and ownership and leadership, but took many processes and controls to actually do things quickly and responsibly.

Pros

Large company with some sense of security if you are among the top contributors. Benefits aren't bad. Lots of room to move around if you are young and mobile. Ability to work at home.

Cons

Resource Actions instead of revenue growth. Benefits degraded from what they used to be. One of the values that attracted me to this company was "Respect for the Individual", that is LONG GONE and has been replaced by new values centered solely around business results. Pensions are gone for new employees and been replaced by an adequate 401K.

Pros

Good team atmosphere, everyone's nice. Work is OK, not overly demanding. Learned a lot. Good emphasize on a systematic approach to software development, most based Agile Methodologies. They also encourage you to establish patents and technical articles. You may be able to work with a lot of teams around the globe. And you have some opportunity to rotate to oversea offices

Cons

I met many low-key experts and I also met quite a few egoistic know-it-all. Really need to focus on concrete learning by yourself and make sure your skill set has a strong foundation. You need to search and discover who those real experts are, the ones who are willing spending time to help you to grow your own expertise.
