Pros

Coops treated as a full time IBMer Great place to learn alot of new things. Great Mentors/Firstline Managers Above avg pay (though nothing spectacular). Programs to help coops go out for lunch/after work. Interesting

Cons

Really large, so it's difficult to get to know people.

Pros

It's a big company. Working there is kinda stable.

Cons

A company that is more concerned about the color of shirts and ties that I wear and the type of vehicle I park in the lot than the work that I do.

Pros

The "workers" still have faith in IBM even though management is trying to break that faith. IBM has very flexible work policy. Can pretty much work your own hours as long as you get your job done. That's one of the things that 1st line managers still have control over.

Cons

The erosion of benefits, retirement, salary, and off-shoring of jobs has taken a terrible toll on employee morale. Having been around to see the days of management that cared about employees really breaks my heart to see what IBM has turned into.
