Pros

- Independent working style, with over all control on performance . - Senior are always there to help and teach about cracking deals, -Analyst team is very helping in matter of co-ordination & completing task with in TAT . -Passing out leads . - Highly Ethical Based Company and practice the same. -Code of conduct is in place and properly monitored. -Helpful colleagues across all regions. -Salary is ok vis a vis performance

Cons

-Incentive payout need to be stabilize as its very hard to keep track whether incentive paid as per as the performance , some time it dosent comes with salary and its get credited by middle of month . -Need to little bit more faster in providing rating when comparing with competition . -Quarterly performance appraisal should happen at regional office so that in open forum we can discuss problems and arrive at a situation. -Monthly market visit by the Analyst is required so that customer can under stand the why and how the rating rating has been assigned . -sector impact should be taken place based on North East market . -Salary is ok vis a vis performance .

Culture-management issues in an otherwise good company

Pros

- Relatively comfortable work culture. Many people work 10 to 6, although some do have to slog. Depends on the boss. - Great learning, particularly if you are given better assignments from the start. Spend 2-3 years at the start here and you can move on to something great. - Front end work. Good interaction with senior management of clients. Develop knowledge across various sectors. - Develop a variety of skills: Verbal and written communication, financial, sector knowledge, presentation to Rating Committee - Pay used to be good. Now going down - so will come in cons as well.

Cons

- If you are in the right books, growth can be fast. However, this is for the very few people. Favouritism abounds from the top. This is also the case in many other Indian banks, etc. - Promotion like PSUs - depends a lot on image. No clearly defined parameters. A guy slogging 14-15 hours a day will probably get a minor higher pay compared to an average guy. However, once that accumulates, may be good later on, but not worth the effort. - Management discretion is a bit too much. One year, they will declare promotions in May and one year in July. Unnecessary distraction for employees. - Sometimes, too little number of people handling too much work and in some other teams, the opposite. At the end of the year, both get similar pay. What's the use? - Work gets boring after some time. Don't do much to rotate employees amongst sectors or departments to help them learn more. - Bring in reasonably good people, but then do not train them as much as a company like this should. Results in skills getting rotted, unless they move on. - Coordination between departments leaves much to be desired. Too much depends on individual effort, not much on systems in place. Company has hopped on due to some good people being there, but not desirable. - Used to be a good paymaster earlier. Now pay has declined for recent joinees. Has been a discouraging factor - people quit / switch sooner now. - Even the best placed people in the company agree that HR culture is extremely discouraging. Also, employees can't say anything fearing the senior people. Hopefully Moody's will do something on the culture front.
