Pros

IKEA has a great work environment, amazing friendly colleagues.

Cons

Pay for a specialist is not competitive enough. There are no incentives, no bonuses or commission. On my store a sales specialist earns only about £600 more a year than a regular employee. When I started my employment at IKEA it was a good place to grow your career, now there is no opportunities. All the middle management has been cut, they just eliminated the positions but not the workload, so there is no more the role of team leaders or deputy managers only a shopkeeper that's always overloaded with work. Regular sales specialists are often assigned with managerial workload without any extra compensation in the name of what they call togetherness. IKEA has serious issues with stock availability, selling a complete kitchen is always a challange and causes unnecessary stress and time wasting for workers and customers.
