Pros

Believes in work-life balance; managers actually care about your career development. Their ACE CRA program is great; they teach you well and prepare you for what's ahead. Per diem is nice perk

Cons

You don't realize it until you start looking elsewhere, but you don't get paid much. Maybe it's because they are providing you the experience for later jobs but even when you do move up, you don't get paid nearly as much as you should.

Pros

Good vacation is you're an Assoc. Director or above. Doing some interesting work.

Cons

Senior management has completely lost touch with employees. While claiming double digit growth in profits, raises are practically non-existent (~2% if you're lucky) and the employee contribution for health insurance went up from 10% to 35%, and they blamed the ACA while hiding the cost burden shifting. Management is also stuck in the 1990's with bell-curve forced distribution ratings, and beginning to talk about "the new normal". Pretty much all non-mandated training is slashed, no advancement opportunities for most IT positions. As soon as they eliminated the matrixed organization, the opportunities for people to actually advance in their career were eliminated. Now it's only about delivery. And to top it off, at least in the main headquarters, they're going to bench-style seating with less square footage for a cubette than is required for a veal pen. Nothing says "Quintiles cares" about its employees like pitiful raises, cutting benefits while shifting more cost to the employee, cutting training and career progression, and then moving you into a rabbit hutch of a desk.

Pros

Work life balance is good for certain people Some people are nice Interesting industry

Cons

First of all, no two people could have the same experience at IQVIA, and every group, every BU, every team is so different so any reviews have to have that in mind. One thing that spans across all groups and BUs is the level of ego -- everyone is so focused on their titles, which are often meaningless. This culture drives an undercurrent of stupid politics and cut-throatness that is really debilitating to anyone not willing to do anything to play the game. Any mistake you make is going to be magnified and inspected 100-fold, while any accomplishment you have will have the bare minimum, if that, recognition. Bonuses and raises are a literal joke, and unless you know whose ego to stroke, you can forget promotions (certain jobs have no career track either, so if you are unlucky landing that type of role, good luck trying to build momentum in your career). Many of the SLs and directors have little to no people management skills so forget about career fostering. There's also always a fear of layoffs or major changes in departments that happen every six months to a year so if you are focused on building a career, you have to get used to FREQUENT change with little to no understanding how each change will affect your specific role.
