      Develop good relationships with local team members. Certain level of freedom and independence due to disconnect with corporate.

      Cons

      Promotions and recognition are almost completely arbitrary - not based on project work performance, but based on revenue and earnings.

      Pros

      There are many opportunities to create solutions that impact the lives of people in a positive way. Knowing that the work you are doing helps to advance research into drugs that may some day cure the ailments that most terrify humanity is both a humbling and rewarding experience.

      Cons

      The resources available are far outweighed by the amount of work that needs to be done, this occasionally leads to people being stretched to thin and can raise stress in some instances.

      A good place to be for pharma consulting

      Pros

      IMS is one of the biggest players in pharmaceutical consulting, and has been great career started for me. You get exposure to some the biggest companies and get to work with some very experienced consultants.

      Cons

      IMS has had poor results with cross-practice projects and collaboration, especially within consulting. What this means for a recent college graduate is that your experiences will be limited to within your practice. Make sure you like what you're signing up for.
