Unbeknownst to me, they hired me to use me as a fall-guy to give their biggest client bad news
Pros
The pay was alright, but not worth the hellish experience
Cons
I only worked there for about 5 months, they provided barely any actual training for the job, and they gave me their most important study for their most important client, who already had a data manager assigned to the study that the client loved (and that DM was still at IQVIA; it wasn't like they quit or anything, they were just pulled off of the project so I could take it over), and gave me a month to create an extremely important and long presentation on the study to present to the client at an in-person meeting they flew me out for. Long story short, there was physically no way to reduce a particular timeline below ~2 months, but the client expected and demanded a 2 week timeline, which just wasn't possible given the testing the study required. Despite my best attempt to work with them and explain the fundamental limitations, they were incredibly upset. Afterwards, I was "laid off" because, I was told, they didn't need as many DMs as they hired anymore. But, in reality, IQVIA just needed someone to take the blame for them without hurting their reputation. It sucked.
