Pros

The people are good, the work is interesting and almost always engaged. Most of the people are on your side, the LMs listen to you.

Cons

There seems to be no career offer to move up. Management always spouts about upward mobility, but from the bottom line it seems nonexistent. Policy used to be you can't move up further than 2 job levels. However HR is changing that. The perception and the talk is it's going to be much more difficult to move up. Pay is not competitive. Other CROs are poaching CTAs and CRAs because of their competitive compensation. The new health insurance is much more expensive than it used to be. Changes happen so slow.

Pros

I absolutely loved working for Quintiles and I would still be working there if I hadn't relocated. I love the salary, the recognition, the contracts, the value it gives it's nurses and the opportunities that are available with the company. I worked for home a Nurse Educator, and they provide everything you need. I also loved working with my team. The managers were awesome and really there to help you succeed at your job.

Cons

The only thing I didn't like was that they do much for you if you have to move to another project or help you find another project. I relocated from Chicago to Florida with my family because my husband to a new job in Florida and I let my manager know 6 months in advance so I could they could be on the look out for another position or project for me and they didn't do anything to assist me. I was a great worker, good reviews and even serving as the District team leader for my project and they look out for me at all. I was basically all on my own. I applied for other jobs at Quintiles and either I didn't get a call or I went on an interview and they choose someone else. This was hurtful seeing that I was doing such a great job at Quintiles. I also didn't receive my bonus even after staying until the end of the semester.

Pros

Lots of training and support. I at least worked with very knowledgeable people. Good advancement - promotes from within. Good working environment and benefits.

Cons

Big company so sometimes you can feel like you don't count. Pike was a major con, unethically telling mgmt to drop evaluation ratings to save money (this was confirmed by two higher ups), but he is gone! Company does sugar coat when they take away a benefit, like taking away employee appreciation day saying that employees asked instead of the company spending money on them that they use a day "off" to do volunteer work. Let's call an apple an apple - the company does not lose any money, gets a tax benefit from this, and for the employee is it really a day "off" since I have to catch up on all the work I missed the next day at work?! But a lot of companies sugar coat like this.
