No work life balance

Pros

Work from home but have to go see patients in the field. Love the patients.

Cons

No work life balance! Case loads too big. Work with 3 drugs and 3-9 indication. Work 60+ hours week depending on size of territory. Management clueless- don’t know what they do but they work us to death and don’t understand or care and question why we would have to work so many hours. Constantly giving us more work, trainings, meetings. No vacation coverage. Basically you kill yourself the week before and week after. Only 4 weeks vacation a year!

Toxic work culture with quite firing

Pros

Option to work from home, work remote within India

Cons

I work with the Public Health team of IQVIA and this has been the experience for most of us here. Toxic work culture with unsaid expectation from employees to work long hours and on the weekends. Employees who do not work long hours, and are available at all times including weekends are given a low rating which leads to quite firing (little or no salary increase, keeping employee out of loop, increased workload). If you ask for leave your workload will be increased drastically that will make you question why did I even apply for leave or asked to compensate hours that you are taking leave for (leave is very much part of employee right!). They do not give you any training and expect top quality deliverables. When you ask for mentoring/training the answer is google it. This toxic work culture forces employees to resign. Save yourself from this toxic work culture and do not join. Don't expect high salary for the amount of workload expected from you. Pay is below market!! I highly suggest you connect with a former employee who worked in this practice irrespective of geography. Attrition rate is very high which obviously speaks of the culture and why people leave within months of joining. Middle East and Africa, India, South East Asia, Asia Pacific - all have Public Health practice and unfortunately the culture remains same: TOXIC

Pros

Good training, and very good policies on travel and especially per diems. It was also a very tight-knit community, at least within the IQVIA employees within the FSP I was assigned.

Cons

• The inconsistencies in promotion time and salaries (some people came in as CRA IIs straight from a short stint in site work, then were promoted to seniors in a year, while others languished despite far exceeding metrics...and no, this isn't just me). • The many redundancies in the particular FSP in which I was assigned; these made it hard to be as efficient as I wanted to be, and took time away from other tasks. I wish there was more support from management on employee suggestions, as well. • Also, it would have been nice if I was given the referral bonus(es) I was told I'd get for referring two great employees they ended up hiring. In the end, they didn't give it to me for either, and when pressed said "look at the policy, number 6" or something; that number said something along the line of they could deny it based on business needs/purposes. Purposefully vague? • Health insurance leaves a lot to be desired, but is comparable to other CROs.
