Pros

Free snacks and unlimited annual leave

Cons

If you want to work for an organisation where micromanagement is at an all time high then this place is for you! If you want to be bullied and continually made to feel incompetent then apply now! The Sydney office used to be a fantastic place to work. People were rewarded for hard work ethic and were driven to deliver outstanding results. Indeed globally decided to make a change and unfortunately it has come back to haunt them. Top performers have moved on as they could see the writing was on the wall. Originally i was reluctant to write a review however reading some reviews lately (which have been quite clearly been written by senior management - trust me I know) potential candidates need to know that this place is rotting at the core. It starts at the top with a sales leader who is clueless, rude and arrogant (plus thinks it’s okay to swear at new hires) coupled with a HR team who are “yes” people and keep a blind eye to everything that is wrong with this organisation. Reading recent posts saying there is a buzz is in the office is laughable. The only buzz in the office is buzz kill and as mentioned is from the leaders above. This isn’t a good place to work nor will you see any sort of progression. If you want your sales career to stall and watch as Seek continually dominate the market then this place is definitely where you want to be. Senior Management, HR and Marketing are all rudderless and watching the world crumble around them and with attrition at an all time, they have no idea how to fix it (besides write positive posts on Glassdoor who are Owned by Indeed mind you). If you really are that desperate for a job then be my guest otherwise stay well well clear of this incompetent organisation

Thank you for your review, we would like to address that bullying is not something we tolerate from anyone in our organisation. We hope that our current employees will reach out to their team members if they witness such behavior, so we can address it immediately. Glassdoor and Indeed operate as two completely independent companies and, as such, any review received undergoes the same quality check by Glassdoor as any other company. We ask employees to give us their honest feedback about working for Indeed internally and externally on review sites like Glassdoor. This way we can monitor all the feedback we’re receiving and create actions plans between HR and our leadership team. We are listening and acting on all the feedback we receive across our external and internal feedback channels, so we appreciate the time you have taken to give us this. If you have any more concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly at inside@indeed.com.

Cons

Indeed are losing valuable employees due to their upper managements poor decisions and lack of management skills. Indeed is a great place to work if you don't work within Sales, they set unrealistic targets and regardless of whether or not you are always giving your 110% best they diminish your confidence by saying your not good enough. I have never felt so depressed waking up for work in the morning and knowing I work at a company who doesn't give a crap about how much effort you put in as an individual. You have no sense of job security here unless you are smashing your unrealistic which even the best reps could not hit. The commissions are nothing put a few penny's here and there - I made much more at my previous job and I was on a much lower wage base. Forget the unlimited annual leave if you are in sales, managers recommend not taking a holiday for more then 2-3 weeks otherwise you will fall behind on making your unrealistic target and again diminish you. The way they approach you in your one to one meetings is disgusting, and when your approach HR about the situation they give you a bias opinion because they are friends with the manager and give you little to no advice about how to tell with the situation instead they make things worse and tell you that maybe your aren't good enough. So much for being a supportive company! Management are so focused on unrealistic things that they forget to actually care about their employees, this is probably why they have a big turnover rate and need to hire fresh new graduates because they are loosing valuable employees. Let's me just say working at Indeed was the worst decision I have made, the only thing I miss is the team and how great the culture was with them!

Thank you for sharing a review. As an HR team, we care about what our employees care about and we want Indeed to be the best job of their career. We are here to help our employees navigate the waters, equip them with the tools they need, building bridges between departments, and developing their career. We understand the past few months have been challenging as we continue to review our processes and prepare for an office move to a bigger space to accommodate our growth in Sydney. At Indeed, we champion a culture that values honest and transparent communication, with quarterly feedback and management effectiveness surveys, so if you would like to share feedback confidentially so we can look further into this, please email inside@indeed.com

Pros

+ Free breakfast and lunch on Wednesdays + Happy hour on Friday + Good base salary + Motivated and target driven work mates + The best office location in town + Good work / life balance, I never have had to work overtime + The perks and benefits

Cons

- The "unlimited PTO" that does not exist - Depending on what department you work for, they do not do flextime - Targets for some teams are unachievable - The larger Indeed has gotten, the less transparent the management has become - Poor career progression unless you work in sales - It's always the same person(s) that get promoted and is the manager's pet
