Pros

A handful of the people were talented and enjoyable to be around, but most of them were all looking for their next opportunity.

Cons

I worked at Infosys for about 6 months, and it was by far the worst job I have ever had. The work day started at 6:30am with a phone call to India with a verbally abusive and wildly incompetent manager. This phone call would sometimes last two hours. Other people had their phone calls at 11pm at night, rather than the morning, but a daily phone call to India was the norm. Most of the team I worked with was in India, which made contacting them difficult, and even when contacted they were often uncooperative. Anytime anything went wrong with the code, the question was never "How can we fix this?" but "Who can we blame?" kicking off a multi day long process of bickering about whether or not the issue even existed, and if it did, whose fault it was. This happened almost every week. There were no real career advancement options for Americans, and this became clear very quickly. Management was also dishonest, and misled me on multiple occasions. Compensation was also abysmal, justified by false promises of massive raises further down the line that were locked behind herculean tasks that we were clearly never expected to be able to complete. The benefits were also very poor. Infosys also did not give me the tools I needed to succeed at my job, but expected me to succeed anyways. I held an entry level position, but was expected to have senior level knowledge almost daily. The quality of the training materials was also incredibly poor, with the materials often being outdated and written in English so broken that it was incomprehensible, but completing the training was still mandatory. In person training was no better either.

Pros

Can be a great place to start.

Cons

No upward mobility and totally disorganized. If you are not from India stay away from here.

Pros

Anyone could get hired here. It was technically a development job, and an accessible route for no-collar folks to enter the industry.

Cons

The most chaotic management experience I've ever encountered. Team leads didn't seem to know what was going on. Upper management did not pay attention to feedback, instead opting to sell snake oil to clients about our productivity. Repeatedly, my team members and I were asked to deceive visiting clients by pretending to work on complicated projects, or by giving overly positive testimony about our experience at the company. The training is a joke. It's computer science 101 packaged with the baseline of "specialized training" for legacy/enterprise tech over the course of two months. I saw multiple people fail even these tests, only to have their scores painted over. It does not matter to the management, they'll just tell clients they passed. Benefits and compensation are the best part of the job, and they're pretty mediocre. Lower than average salary, lower quality insurance.
