1. No proper career path and IRACE made things even worse.
2. Not many managers care about your next assignment and / or role fitment in the next assignment
3. Pay check is unpredicatable (this is mostly for Indian salary) and US pay is fine if you are a bachelor and living in a shared accommodation. But not for a family person
4. US pay will not be made clear for a person travelling from India till the time he reaches the destination and starts working. You will be able to see a approximate amount (which is very less) before itself but final salary varies a lot.
5. US pay is made dependent on the rating which the employee receives in the previous cycle (CRR). For ex: even though you have been in the same place in US the prior year and went to India after closing the trip, and during that time your rating was not good (by any reason because of manager not rating properly etc), when you travel again to that location, your salary will be less than the prior trip.
6. These days I have observed the company is recruiting people by giving higher pay (sometimes nearly double the salary for the same band/role), but employees who are loyal to the company are not considered for hike. I have seen 5yrs exp new joinee getting 10L where as more than 6+ yrs person getting 7L. (This is pertaining to Indian salary that I have heard from both these people). On a different note, people who joined the company and became managers before IRACE are fine in terms of their role and new joinees are ok with their salaries. But what about those who are neither of these two. This is an example. There might be many views to this.
7. Appraisal (Half yearly) is just for name sake and not much support from any manager. Just because he has to fill a long list of parameters he will do it. That too at the last moment. CRR (yearly) is one of those things which most people dont understand. If your manager is good at projecting you and fight with other managers during the discussion, he wins. Other than the project activities are considered here ex: participation in infosys level activities, group level activities etc. i.e. everyone does their project work, but what extra you have done -- during the time which the client is paying the company?
8. Employee expense claims are the most difficult things to get reimbursed. Especially the US Claims. ex: the policy says that you will be given $80 for airport taxi and you will be given ticket for an aiport which is 35miles or so (even though there are nearby domestic airports that can be considered) and the taxi bill will be $120 because your landed during the late hour etc, in order to get the extra $40, you have to do an exception claim and it will go to the head of the unit for approval before which multiple levels of approvals are needed. Anything you have to get from the company you have to fight or in other terms followup
