Pros

Infosys is known to fall into the top 3 to 4 India based IT service companies. Therefore, IC is capable of getting in front of key industry leaders.

Cons

Very critical, political, non-communicative, non-supportive work environment that fosters a frustrating, negative corporate culture. This is not a mgt consulting company but rather all technology focused (do not get caught up in the sales rhetoric). Clients will never view Infosys as a management consulting company but rather an outsourcing organization. Therefore, Infosys Consulting competes against the parent company for technology consulting deals and there lies the problem. The consulting arm will never win and thus it becomes the sales force for the larger company but does not get the sales credit. If you were born outside of the US or previously worked at Deloitte you stand a much better chance of success. You are expected to work at any given moment, day or night, and the benefits are non-existent (no 401K), or very bad (healthcare) and everyone carries their own expenses in tune of $10k for 3 to 6 months. The review process is a joke- it sounds good on paper but in the end it comes down to who the partners want to reward or those people who have sucked up to the partners. A lot of good people have left or are looking to leave. The IP sounds good in a presentation but proves to be useless in an actual project because you have to build everything from scratch and does not provide the differentiating factors that were originally presented in the sales process.

Pros

Awesome Infrastructure Less Politics (Varies from Dev Center to Dev Center- But situation is better than Other Indian IT Orgs) Opportunity of Log Onsite- Good Option for Wealth Creation

Cons

Pathetic HR Policy - Specially After some New People took over the HR management Pathetic Enumeration- If you don't get overseas assignment you can not work here for long Talent is not recognized- You need to be humble to your Boss even if he screw up project plan & should be open for Weekend Work- which does not carry any financial benefit. Less/ Or No Encouragement for External Certification in Mass Level- Even if candidate is eligible. HR will say they don't feel any need for that as Internal Certification is there- which is just a mere mockery of certification. It is just turning to be another Indian IT company which rely heavily on fresh college pass outs who are just new and not expected to productive. The Team-Leads (5-8) have to hold bottom line for the work which is to be finished by a team of fresher (10-12 per lead) and eventually lands in messing up his work-life balance to compensate for the incomplete works of the inexperience team. This company should not be treated as a place for long term career anymore (It used to be a great workplace 5 years back during NRM,NANDAN etc - the founders, who are no more active members in the board). Presently Infosys should be considered as a launch pad for New Joinees and frehser, who should look for other opportunity after couple of years or should go overseas (need to fight it out, there will be a long crowd to grab the pie). Lateral or Experience People should look into any Job-offer from Infosys in much micro-level as you can not get any significant hike for next 3-4 years as you will be already ahead of your peers in terms of paycheck. HR will slowdown your pace of increment and let your peers catch you to normalize the pay. So you loose the advantage on others that you took during the Jobt-Switch.

Pros

- great infrastructure, one of the best in its class - One of the best classroom trainings I have ever heard of - for freshers out of college - Mysore campus - Ethical top line management ( Only top 7 ) - Brand Value

Cons

- One should never ever expect any technical growth in this company - The managers don't even know the M of management. - Your career is stagnant after 7 years. Literally you will have nothing to do and you will be forced(indirectly) by Senior mangers to quit. You will not get job anywhere else with this experience. Hence you are forced to stay there till you can survive - without any expectation though. - One of the worst appraisal process. Its all what your senior manger decides. Doesn't matter how well you performed the entire year. - They will promote you, transfer you, salary hike etc only because they want the project to survive. - Overall work for 1 year in this company and start looking for other better opportunities.
