Pros

Salary paid on time Nice location (Canary Wharf) Excellent work life balance (because you won't be doing anything)

Cons

You can be on bench more years, meaning that the company won't give you any projects for years. You won't be learning anything. It's a waste of time. I still know of people who have been in the company for more than 3 years with no project experience. Terrible company to work for. If you want to join, please ask the former graduates about their experience. Also low salary, manager who don't even know you exist.

Pros

Company seems intent on growing its recruitment pipeline of this technology associate role, location is Canary Wharf in London. Company promises to provide training. Big blue chip company names as clients. Colleagues act with a good mannered mindset.

Cons

Recruitment doesn't seem to be rigorous in terms of candidate selection, some of the people brought on left very quickly. Internal processes are opaque and there's a lingering feeling I have that I'm just a human shield pretty face for their localisation attempts. It's more of a talent agency job rather than a career, once you clear the (paternalistically delivered) initial training you are then a green lit "resource" who goes on a merry go round of applying to join projects - think speed dating and you're not too far off. This is quite lacking in structure and feels belittling to engage in at times. Also the stream training is very rigid, with every technology associate being trained on Java and SQL. Won't be staying here for long, especially with this bench system too.

At Infosys, we strive to provide exceptional training, and we appreciate you sharing your experience with our training procedures. We have implemented Infosys LEX, a training feature that can be used for "learning anytime, anywhere," through mobile devices and laptops. If you have not done so, we encourage you to take advantage of this program. We are continually improving and hope you will be able to grow with us!

Pros

Good Java and SQL training for about a month at the start of the job. Access to Lex, their training platform, which has a huge number of courses on a vast range of topics.

Cons

Once the Java/SQL training is finished, you don't get any say in which training stream you join. Before I joined, I was told that I would be able to do full-stack development training and get a project related to that. Some people do get to do what they want, but that's based on luck. I had to do training that I'm not interested in, and which involved zero coding, and then I was assigned to a project that's not related to any of the training that I've done and is not at all what I want to do. Now that I've been assigned to a project, I have ended up being a copy editor when I want to be a software developer. They don't allow you to switch to a different stream/department as "you've been hired for a business purpose so you need to fulfil that." They say you 'might' be able to switch after 1-2 years, if you have the relevant skills. I started at Infosys at the start of this year with a group of about 20 others and only a couple are satisfied with their projects and a few have resigned already. I would not recommend a job as a Technology Associate unless you really don't care which area of IT you work in - you might be assigned to a project where you work on IT support tickets. Also, the salary is low compared to industry standard and there's only 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, which is the legal minimum in the UK. Most companies offer 25 + bank holidays.
