Poor company

Pros

It used to be a good company but not anymore

Cons

My experience at Ingram Micro has been extremely disappointing. The company has significantly declined in recent years, with little to no opportunities for career growth, development, or promotion. The HR team is often unapproachable and dismissive, making employees feel unsupported and undervalued. Compensation does not reflect the heavy workload, which can be overwhelming and unsustainable. The management culture is toxic and creates a stressful work environment. I would not recommend working here if you value your well-being, work-life balance, or long-term career prospects.

Good for people in between jobs they actually want and people in Buffalo

Pros

There used to be some really good people working for this company and there are a number of people who have been around for a while and provide good mentorship. You just have to find them

Cons

Ingram Micro continues to work as if they are a new start up and not a billion dollar global organization. If you live in Buffalo and want a white-collared job, this is the place for you. If you live outside Buffalo and are not a part of the in-crowd, you are outcasted. HR does not help with creating an environment where you can give feedback without retaliation. You are also not going to be able to advance your career if you aren’t located somewhere there is an office. They have also started requiring most days be in the office and have implemented a dress code from the early 2000s. The executive team was great under Kirk, but since he retired, the entire executive team has become toxic and narrow minded. I am honesty shocked at how many partners continue to work with Ingram Micro over the other distribution partners. They are so focused on becoming a “platform” company, AKA Amazon instead of becoming a better corporate distributor. Executives are also more focused on bashing their competition in Florida than trying to create a culture that’s great for their employees. If a company’s executive has to bash their competitor, you know there is a culture problem.
