Pros

Great office space, good benefits.

Cons

Front line management bullies staff and has unreal expectations. Management does not live the values that are Intact's mission. Stress is very high and management shows no empathy to the staff.

Pros

Pros would be, if you're the most popular in the office you will be promoted. And this is not some bitter analysis... a manager told a group of employees this before she changed departments. Everything I say in this review is honest and true and not made up by some terrible former employee... if Intact replies to this review that is exactly what they'll tell themselves to help them sleep at night. So let's say your office is filled with 30-50 year old women... for example; you must be the most popular of that group in order to be promoted. Popular does not mean the most knowledgeable or experienced, I want to emphasize it means HIGH school popularity equivalents. Gossip and lies are key in Intact's offices and Intact blames the victim always. This is great news if you are the most popular because this will not happen to you. If you are a manager's favourite, you will get insight and knowledge that the bottom of the totem pole will not receive. Thus you will feel secure in your role hearing the gossip and thoughts from the manager about your colleagues. Many manager's are not suited academically for their roles, therefore... you too can be under-qualified and pick favourites and live your best high-school nostalgic life.

Cons

Cons would be, constant restructuring of the company since they can't figure out how to make the most money possible yet... trust the board of directors are on it. Family members of managers are hired and promoted at 3x the rate in comparison to employees that have no personal ties with the higher-ups. There are REPEATED mistakes made and the only way it's brought to someones attention is when a customer complains and it's taken care of by individual feedback between the employee and the manager. The mistakes will constantly be made throughout the company because everyone's on a different page. As a customer, if you don't like an answer that is given to you just call again and talk to someone else. The best way to get what you want is to bombard our phone lines and freak out to get a manager on the phone. We may get a mass email that you are calling and that you are a flagged customer, however you will eventually speak to a manager and they give everything they can to get rid of customers since the manager's have no time for anything except executive and off-site meetings. Manager's will throw their employees under the bus to save their jobs, whether it be to customers or to their bosses. Customers are treated like training opportunities. It's depressing to work for a company that is so hypocritical and messy. All of the commercials are geared towards customer service but they can't figure out the basics of training for their employees/managers. One of the employees that was a favourite was tired of a customer that was ranting over the phone and that employee cursed at him to go talk to his doctor, and she was promoted after that. It's really eye-opening what management gets away with at this disgusting insurance company. The only feedback/advice I ever got was to make it harder for my customer's to reach me. Except.. we as employees are graded based on customer satisfaction. THAT is the culture at Intact.

Pros

There used to be only pro's, however new management style coupled with horrible hiring has led to there being absolutely no pro's.

Cons

Where to begin: -the better you are at your job, the more work they will throw on you with no remorse. -claims at one point were about 200 cases per worker, except the select few. -the select few were not given claims, they were told to help. These are not the people who worked hard to make sure there claims were under a certain amount. These are people that management were friends with or just plain got along really well. -i learned to do what is necessary and nothing more as you will only be rewarded with other slackers work. -i helped one person who had fell behind, multiple complaints - she was given a promotion and I was unfortunately not ready yet. ***I had applied for a Bodily Injury Adjuster Job a little after being hired as a Claims auto adjuster. Only one month on the job when I went for the interview. The hiring manager advised that i needed more Adjuster experience. A few other colleagues with the same position as mine were also told the same thing. The company ended up hiring a Customer Service Rep for the position. A person who has ZERO experience as an adjuster. **OUR FLOOR ONCE RECEIVED AN EMAIL STATING THAT WE SHOULD REFRAIN FROM USING THE WASHROOM THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON AS THE PHONES WIL BE BUSY. INSTEAD WE SHOULD USE WASHROOM ONLY ON OUR LUNCH.***
