      Good employer, but expect to work hard and be flexible

      Pros

      Good opportunities to increase your formal and "on the job" education. Most managers are open to flexibility to achieve work/life balance. There are good personal benefits such as employee discount programs, well maintained gyms, bike to work facilities, good team building events.

      Cons

      Often demands quite a lot of flexibility outside of normal scheduled work hours, very competitive workplace between peers, somewhat flawed annual review process.

      Pros

      Based on my three months at Intel Research Santa Clara, they are very flexible with respect to where and how you get your work done. They are open to telecommuting and working from home when necessary. They have good health benefits even for interns.

      Cons

      Intel is a large company, and with it come some of the normal downfalls such as red tape.
