      Toxic leadership culture hiding behind a polished employer brand

      Pros

      There are incredibly talented people across Intuit’s design, engineering, and product organizations. Unfortunately, their potential is too often undermined by a culture that fails to support, empower, or retain them. If you're one of these people, you deserve an employer that genuinely values you, not one that damages your confidence.

      Cons

      - Leadership accountability is non-existent. Managers are empowered to manipulate performance narratives, sideline dissenting voices, and manufacture underperformance without oversight. - The company presents a progressive, employee-first image externally, but many internal practices, particularly within certain orgs, tell a very different story. - HR lacks independence. Even when employee concerns are formally documented and substantiated, HR often defers to management regardless of conduct or fairness. - Psychological safety is low. Speaking up, asking questions, or seeking clarity can quickly be weaponized against you. There is a systemic pattern of gaslighting and plausible deniability used to quietly push people out, especially new hires who don't align with unspoken power dynamics. - The bar for leadership behavior is extremely low, as long as optics are maintained.

      All that glitters is not gold

      Pros

      You get plenty of free food, decent salary, stocks if that’s what you want.

      Cons

      1. Extremely toxic culture. No respect for a technologist. 2. Lack of good work makes everyone get a bite from a bigger chunk which creates a rat race and in that exercise the value of work diminishes. 3. Mutual trust within the team is virtually non-existent. 4. Sharing of information is rare. 5. Intuit laid off almost 7.3% of its Global workforce in the wake of covid-19 spike and as per Reuters, the company described this as a regular activity to align to its objective of becoming AI driven company. I agree the company has every right to do that, but during an ongoing pandemic, when nothing ever seen like that, when Globally people are suffering, when there are Globally many CEOs who let go their salary to keep their headcount intact, and especially when Intuit boosts so much about employee care, that reminds me of the quote from William Shakespeare, "all that glitters is not gold"!

      Pros

      Company has some cash cow products that will continue to generate revenue as long as it can lobby with the govt.

      Cons

      This company is led by a bunch of old timers at the Exec mgmt level, who play politics and eliminate anyone that's a threat. Beware before joining this company.
