Managers are empowered to manipulate performance narratives, sideline dissenting voices, and manufacture underperformance without oversight. - The company presents a progressive, employee-first image externally, but many internal practices, particularly within certain orgs, tell a very different story. - HR lacks independence. Even when employee concerns are formally documented and substantiated, HR often defers to management regardless of conduct or fairness. - Psychological safety is low. Speaking up, asking questions, or seeking clarity can quickly be weaponized against you. There is a systemic pattern of gaslighting and plausible deniability used to quietly push people out, especially new hires who don't align with unspoken power dynamics. - The bar for leadership behavior is extremely low, as long as optics are maintained.
