Pros

Company works hard to live by thier mission statement and commitment to customers and employees alike. Although every company experiences attrition at all levels I don't think you'll find a company with such a high percentage of long-time (5+ years) employees. There are opportuniites for leadership training on a regular basis, you only need to keep alert for sign-ups and follow-through if this is the path you would like to take.

Cons

Direct compensation seems to be lacking and for a technology company the equipment and tools are stuck a few years behind the power curve. They do make up for this with a strong benefits package, but sometimes the numbers on the W-2 speak the loudest. Support teams have become fragmented and isolated. The sales force seems to be favored and more motivated. Nobody wants to pay for support, but without a well managed and compensated support team users would give up and quit using the software.

Pros

Solid company that's not going anywhere anytime soon. Also, if you are lucky enough to find the right team, you can have a pretty good work life balance.

Cons

- Slow, bureaucratic, highly political - these are all ingredients for a painful work experience. - Tops down communication is sporadic and inconsistent - it often seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. - Company strategy is... oh right, there is no strategy. - When it comes to promotions, the squeaky wheels are the ones that get greased.

Pros

Stable company, very good leadership (Brad Smith is GREAT), established processes, and everyone seems to have "shared vision" on a methodology with which we should be solving for customers...management has done a great job infusing this thinking. as a result, employees seem to be drinking the koolaid (in a positive way) - providing a common vernacular to have discussions internally

Cons

very political, get pidgeon-holed quickly. sometimes difficult to advance your career. your managers do a lot more managing up than managing direct reports.
